RIP It and GRIP It

Hailey Woolner competed in just her second Level 4 competition. Happy that her nerves were not apparent like in her last experience. Hailey managed 2 strong vaults with an 8.825 and scored well on bars with an 8:816  Heading over to beam she couldn’t conquer that pesky cartwheel and fell but didn’t let that disturb her and finish strongly on floor. She actually took the Gold medal! Lots of smiles, but I think the ribbon helped, not to mention the Silver All Around medal. Great way to finish the year and conquer your fears.

Next Ava Lush competed and really had a tremendous meet. For Ava a tough season was finding its conclusion as she was trying to showcase some new skills. Starting on bars she posted a respectable 8.45. Beam had her summon up some courage as she did her backhand spring. No matter the score, the look on Ava’s face said it all…she was happy!! On floor she posted a 9.125 and a 5th place ribbon. Ava finished with a 34.750 score but was so happy ticking off competing front handspring front tuck on her list of “to-do’s”. Great job Ava.

Kyla Francis competed her floor routine for the last time. She scored with a 9.325 well earning the Gold medal, showing the merit of this quirky routine. Normally beam is a good event for Kyla, but those pesky turns would not cooperate, and she had to count a fall. All in all, Kyla finished up with admirable performances on vault and bars. Not her best meet but now she can turn her attention to learning new skills for next season.

Myra Emblau showed consistency through the competition with scores that ranged from 8.125-9.325. Myra again had her highest score on floor, proving her sassy floor is a winner for her. She even tried a new tumbling line (front handspring, front tuck). Great way to end the season Myra.

Savanna Pardy showed solid performances to capture the gold on bars, beam and a season high 9.5 on floor. Only on vault did she settle for the bronze medal. As usual all smiles on the podium, our humble performer will likely take this past season as fuel to motivate her in her future training. Great work girls.

In the JO3 level competing were Bridgett and Marya. Bridgett’s 2nd competition placed 2nd on bars and 3rd on floor, way to go Bridgett. Marya showing her beautiful lines earned herself 7th on bars, 6th on beam and 2nd on floor.

Competing in the JO4 level the girls were ready to compete. Rebekah was ready to go on the first apparatus, Vault placing1st, Rebekah also got 6th on the uneven bars and the balance beam 7th on floor and 2 All round. Andorra showing off her understanding of the uneven bars placed Gold, Andorra also placed 7th on vault 8th on floor and 6th all round. Kitt having a wonderful beam earned herself 7th on the apparatus, Kitt also received 4th on bars and 8th all round. Lexus getting her personal best on floor receiving a 9.075 placed 6th on floor, Lexis also placed 8th on the balance beam.

Last to compete were the Jo7 and Jo8 category. Lily in the Jo7 level showed off her clean routines earned 1st on vault 4th on bars 3rd on beam 4th on floor and 2nd all round. Rylee hitting all four events earned herself 7th on the balance beam and 5th on the floor exercise. Abby and Fallon were competing in the Jo8 level. Abby hitting 4 for 4 placed 1st on vault, 1st on bars 2nd on beam 1st on floor and 1st all round. Fallon starting on beam had a great start to the competition, placing 1st on the apparatus. Fallon also received 2nd on vault 3rd on bars 2nd on floor and 2nd all round. Awesome work girls! What a great weekend we had in Edmonton at North Edmonton Gymnastics Club Grip It Rip It Competition!!!
